My imagery tends to arise from the familiar reflected mainly in having spent a lifetime in the American South. The work, through the processes of painting and drawing, aims to assert itself among the familiar and often dredges up fragments of memories conscious and unconscious, flashes of things seen, ached for, recalled along the way. I like to reset myself in the wilderness, and for me that means pines, heat, light, atmosphere…
